Responsible supervisor

The supervisor who signs verification forms on behalf of an organization when several supervisors share one trainee.

What it means

When multiple supervisors at one organization share responsibility for a trainee, a responsible supervisor signs the Monthly and Final Fieldwork Verification Forms on the organization’s behalf, attesting that all supervisors met the requirements. The BACB® provides specific “Multiple Supervisors at One Organization” versions of the forms for this.

Example

Three BCBAs at a clinic supervise you; one is named the responsible supervisor and signs the organization’s monthly form.

Where it trips people up

Multiple supervisors and settings are allowed, but the supervision contract must include every relevant party and clearly define roles — and you use the organization versions of the forms, not the individual ones.
