Am I Ready for the BCBA Exam?
It is the question everyone studying asks, and a percentage on a short quiz is a poor way to answer it. FieldworkABA scores readiness from 0 to 100 using seven separate signals, so you can see what is actually holding the number down.

The Five Bands
Your score lands in one of five bands. The top band starts at 80.
The Eight Signals, and What Each One Is Worth
Most tools report one number: percent correct. That number rewards answering a lot of easy questions in one domain. These seven are weighted so it does not. Each one also counts only as far as the evidence behind it goes, so 100% on three questions earns almost nothing until you have answered enough for the number to mean something.
| Signal | Weight | What it measures |
|---|---|---|
| Mock performance | 22% | How you score under mock conditions, mini mocks and full mocks alike, weighted by how many questions each one asked. The heaviest single input, because it is the closest thing to the real event. |
| Overall accuracy | 17% | Your accuracy across everything you have answered. Slow to move, which is what makes it a stable base. |
| Recent accuracy | 17% | Your accuracy over your most recent answers. Weighted equally with overall accuracy, and it only counts separately once you have more history than the window itself. |
| Content coverage | 11% | How much of the content outline you have actually practiced, counted per area. Guards against a high score built on a narrow slice. |
| Review mastery | 11% | Of the questions you got wrong and later met again, how many you got right the second time. |
| Consistency | 11% | Whether you study steadily or in one burst. Cramming shows up here. |
| Exam-level performance | 11% | How you do specifically on exam-difficulty items, as opposed to easier practice. |
The Two Nobody Else Measures
Review mastery
Getting a question wrong once is normal. Getting the same one wrong again weeks later is what fails people. When a question you missed comes back around, this records whether it stuck. Percent correct counts both encounters as data points and cannot tell the difference between learning something and meeting it twice.
Consistency
Are you actually studying, or did you do 400 questions one Sunday and nothing since? Spaced practice holds up on exam day and a single burst does not. Consistency measures the pattern of your sessions rather than their total.
What this score is not. It is not a prediction, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the BACB. It is a weighted summary of your own measured performance in this app, meant to replace a guess with something you can look at and act on. Passing the BCBA exam depends on far more than any practice tool can observe.
